We're looking for an Accountant (Offshore Leader) on behalf of on behalf of a Sydney-based client that provides professional business services, helping clients achieve growth through financial expertise and strategic advisory. This role involves working with larger clients, complex business structures, and high-net-worth individuals, delivering accounting, tax, and advisory services while also supporting junior team members.

  • Salary range: RM 8,000 - RM 15,000/month (based on skills & experience)
  • The role requires on-site presence in the beginning.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Services

  1. Prepare financial statements, tax returns, management accounts, budgets, and cashflow forecasts.
  2. Analyze and report on clients' business performance and financial results.
  3. Provide technical taxation advice, tax planning strategies, and business advisory services.
  4. Offer financial modeling and strategic value-added services.
  5. Communicate professionally and in a timely manner with clients.
  6. Identify opportunities for additional support and services for clients.

Team Leadership & Development

  1. Assist the manager in workflow and capacity planning to meet budget and timelines.
  2. Collaborate with both onshore and offshore teams to ensure high-quality work delivery.
  3. Act as a buddy to new team members, aiding their onboarding and development.
  4. Provide mentoring, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  5. Support a client-focused mindset within the team.

Firm Support & Development

  1. Meet individual productivity and recoverability targets.
  2. Maintain accurate timesheets and support weekly billings.
  3. Assist with the monthly review of WIP, write-offs, and debtors.
  4. Continuously develop technical, software, and professional skills.
  5. Contribute to improving firm systems and procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.
  2. CA or CPA qualification (or currently undertaking).
  3. 3+ years of experience in Australian professional practice.
  4. Strong expertise in financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and cost management.
  5. Experience with Xero accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  6. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  7. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
