About the job Client Accounting Manager (Remote)
We are seeking a Client Accounting Manager with excellent interpersonal and communication skills on behalf of our client. The candidate must have had minimum 5 to 6 years of relevant working experience with Singapore clients, and preferably from a professional services firm in Assurance / Accounting / Outsourcing / Client Accounting environment serving SME clients.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of customers ranging from SME business owners to Finance-Admin SME staff and assist with issues on accounting, GST, tax, payroll and corporate secretarial matters.
You may be tasked to assist in training and helping a team of 2 junior accountants and bookkeepers based both in Singapore and in our Philippines office. In this regard, the ideal candidate should have sound technical knowledge, be task-driven, but also have an ability to work with other accountants and bookkeepers, helping and guiding them technically.
This is a full-time position with a 100% remote working arrangement.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Onboarding:
- Prospect, quote, onboard new customers and identify suitable Xero-integrated apps or solutions (point-of-sales, inventory, payments, payroll) for accounting automation.
- Drive and lead migration work, managing production team members to complete.
- Identify opportunities to provide more value and services to the customers, translating to higher fees and upsell of services.
Production of Deliverables:
- Create and disseminate monthly management accounts using Xero cloud accounting ecosystem and its integrated solutions. You may be tasked to supervise and review the work of production team members.
- Prepare workpapers, annual unaudited financial statements and tax computation. You may be tasked to supervise and review the work of production team members.
- Perform or review monthly or quarterly GST submissions for customers, as well as submissions of Estimated Chargeable Income and final tax Form C/S on IRAS portal.
- Compute or review payroll and submission of CPF to CPF Board, submission of annual IR8A and IR21.
- Liaise with Corporate Secretary partner firm to ensure Annual Return filing deadlines are met.
- Ensure all timelines and reporting deadlines are adhered to.
- Communicate complex technical information to customers and other stakeholders.
- Ensure good client feedback, customer satisfaction and encourage referrals.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-6 years of relevant working experience preferably from a professional services firm in Assurance/Accounting/Outsourcing/Client Accounting environment serving SME clients in Singapore.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, financial statements standards, Singapores GST and tax laws, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
- Minimum Diploma in Accounting or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA etc.).
- Experience preparing Financial Statements, Tax Computation with good knowledge in Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, tax laws, GST and CPF is preferred.
- A self motivated and proactive mindset, able to make suggestions on the improvement of the firm, and generate initiatives on your own.
- A high level of interpersonal or communication skills. The ideal candidate should be a good leader, be results and outcomes driven but with great people skills.
- Have the ability to be an extremely good communicator of complex technical information into simple client centric language.
- A natural people person and love working with and dealing with clients problems, and teaching and mentoring junior staff members.
- A knack and interest in testing and rolling out new software and tech solutions. A comfortable digital native.
- Training on accounting software and integrated apps will be provided, however prior experience with Xero accounting software is preferred.
