We are looking for a Corporate Secretary and Accountant on behalf of a client, a Singapore-based firm specializing in immigration consultancy, corporate secretarial, tax, and accounting services. This role is a hybrid function, where the Accountant will be the main point of contact for all finance-related matters, while also acting as a Corporate Secretary for clients, ensuring compliance with Singapores corporate governance regulations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with technology and possess strong presentation skills to communicate complex financial data effectively to management.

Key Responsibilities:

Corporate Secretarial Duties

  • Act as the Corporate Secretary for clients.
  • Handle corporate secretarial responsibilities, including company incorporation with ACRA, KYC, and customer due diligence checks via SentroWeb.
  • Draft company resolutions, board and members minutes, and manage shareholder registers and ACRA filings.
  • Assist with corporate bank account openings and liaise with bankers.
  • Coordinate with external parties such as auditors, local tax authorities, and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory filings, including annual returns, board resolutions, and meeting minutes.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, AML/CFT policies, and Delegation Authority Procedures.
  • Oversee regulatory compliance and reporting with ACRA, the Commission of Charities, and the Ministry of Culture, Community, and Youth (MCCY).
  • Submit surveys/statistics reports as required by government agencies.
    Perform other ad hoc duties assigned by management.

Accounting Duties

  • Prepare and handle month-end accounting, including monthly journals, schedules, and bank reconciliation.
  • Extract information for GST submission and file quarterly GST returns with IRAS.
  • Accurately record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, expenses, and payroll, in Xero accounting software.
  • Generate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements) via Xero.
  • Ensure documents submitted comply with internal control procedures and company policies.

Requirements: 

  • Degree in Accountancy or a recognized accounting certification (e.g., ACCA / LCCI).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a corporate secretary and accountant.
  • Familiarity with Singapores Companies Act.
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with accounting software like Infotech or Xero is preferred.
  • Is a registered qualified Individual as per ACRA (Filing Agents and Qualified Individuals) Regulations.
