We are seeking an Assistant Audit Manager to join our growing team in Malaysia. This hybrid role focuses on delivering high-quality audit services to our Hong Kong SME clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end audit engagements, supervising audit team members, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple audit assignments for Hong Kong SME clients across various industries.
- Plan, execute, and finalize audits in accordance with HKFRS, auditing standards, and internal methodologies.
- Allocate and supervise work among junior team members, providing guidance, coaching, and technical support.
- Review audit workpapers and ensure audit files are completed to a high standard.
- Communicate effectively with Hong Kong-based clients to understand their business and address audit issues.
- Perform audit procedures, prepare audit schedules and workpapers, communicate with clients to obtain supporting documents, and complete audit assignments from start to finish, including the preparation of audited financial statements.
- Monitor progress of engagements, ensure timely delivery, and escalate critical issues to the Audit Manager or Director.
- Coordinate with cross-border teams and ensure clear communication of requirements and timelines.
- Maintain and develop professional relationships with clients to foster trust and long-term collaboration.
- Participate in internal initiatives and continuous improvement of audit processes and tools.
What We are Looking For:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification (or in the final stages).
- Minimum 4-6 years of external audit experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
- Prior experience auditing SMEs, ideally with clients in Hong Kong or under HKFRS.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of auditing standards and accounting principles (HKFRS and IFRS).
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is a strong advantage.
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while managing a remote or hybrid team.
- Proficiency in audit software (e.g., CaseWare) and Microsoft Office Suite.
