Job Purpose

We are looking for an experienced Civil Trainer to deliver theoretical and practical training to civil technicians and tradespeople. The successful candidate must have previous experience working as a Civil Supervisor, Site Supervisor, General Foreman or Civil Foreman within a construction company.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct theoretical and hands-on training for civil technicians and tradespeople.
• Develop training programs based on operational and competency requirements.
• Deliver practical demonstrations covering correct construction methods, materials, tools and equipment.
• Identify skill gaps and conduct refresher and upskilling programs.
• Deliver training in masonry, blockwork, plastering, concrete works, tiling, waterproofing, screeding, painting and finishing works.
• Train employees on construction drawings, specifications, measurements, material handling and site-execution practices.
• Conduct trade tests, practical assessments and competency evaluations.
• Maintain attendance, assessment and competency records.
• Prepare training materials, presentations, practical exercises and assessment checklists.
• Coordinate with Operations, HSE and Training teams.
• Ensure all practical training complies with HSE requirements and quality standards.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of hands-on civil construction experience.
• Previous experience as a Civil Supervisor, Site Supervisor, General Foreman or Civil Foreman in a construction company is mandatory.
• Strong practical experience in masonry, blockwork, plastering, concrete, tiling, waterproofing and finishing works.
• Experience supervising civil technicians and tradespeople.
• Ability to conduct practical demonstrations, toolbox talks, coaching and trade-skill assessments.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, measurements and basic quantity calculations.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements and construction safety standards.
• ITI, Diploma or bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology or a related discipline.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Good communication, presentation and coaching skills.
• Experience working in a multicultural environment.
