Job Purpose

Farnek Services LLC is looking for an experienced Housekeeping Senior Trainer to develop and deliver practical and theoretical training for housekeeping and cleaning employees. The successful candidate will ensure that employees have the technical knowledge, practical cleaning skills, safety awareness and motivation required to perform their duties effectively.

Candidates must have strong cleaning operations and training experience within a shopping mall or airport environment.

Key Responsibilities

Training Planning and Development

  • Identify training and development needs through job analysis, employee assessments and consultation with Operations, HR and employee welfare teams.
  • Design and develop training programmes based on organisational, operational and individual competency requirements.
  • Prepare annual training plans, schedules and budgets.
  • Conduct market research on cleaning standards, methods, equipment and training practices.
  • Develop cross-training programmes that allow cleaning employees to work effectively across different FM projects.
  • Complete annual assessments in accordance with BICSc standards.
  • Remain updated on developments and best practices in professional cleaning and workplace training.

Training Delivery

  • Develop and deliver induction programmes for new housekeeping and cleaning employees.
  • Conduct classroom, practical, online, video-based and blended-learning sessions.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations of cleaning methods, machinery, tools, chemicals and safety procedures.
  • Train employees on housekeeping standards, cleaning schedules, hygiene requirements, waste management and customer-service expectations.
  • Assess employees according to BICSc standards.
  • Monitor trainee progress through assessments, questionnaires and discussions with line managers.
  • Prepare individual learning plans and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Conduct refresher, corrective and upskilling training.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and revise programmes based on operational requirements and employee performance.
  • Develop and regularly update training videos and other learning content.

Assessment and Performance Monitoring

  • Conduct practical assessments, trade tests and competency evaluations.
  • Monitor the daily performance of housekeeping and cleaning employees.
  • Identify performance gaps and provide coaching or corrective training.
  • Maintain accurate training, assessment, attendance and competency records.
  • Collect post-training feedback and measure training effectiveness.
  • Prepare reports on training needs, employee progress and return on training investment.

Learning Management System

  • Upload and update training materials, course content, curricula, assignments and learner notifications in the LMS.
  • Use digital tools to create flexible and engaging learning programmes.
  • Generate LMS reports to support training planning and performance monitoring.
  • Coordinate with subject-matter experts, instructional designers, vendors and internal departments to develop e-learning content.
  • Ensure external e-learning content is compatible with the company's LMS.
  • Conduct LMS demonstrations and provide system training to users.
  • Register employees for training events and maintain accurate participation records.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Work closely with line managers, Operations, HR, HSE and senior management to identify and address training needs.
  • Support managers and supervisors in resolving employee performance and training-related concerns.
  • Coordinate with cleaning-equipment and chemical suppliers regarding product training, schedules and delivery methods.
  • Ensure all programmes meet statutory, organisational and client training requirements.

HSE and Quality

  • Ensure practical training complies with HSE requirements and approved cleaning procedures.
  • Promote the correct and safe use of cleaning chemicals, machinery, tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Train employees on chemical dilution, colour coding, infection prevention, waste handling, manual handling and emergency procedures.
  • Ensure employees understand applicable quality standards, cleaning specifications and client expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field.
  • BICSc qualification or certification is required.
  • Train-the-Trainer certification is required.
  • CIPD qualification is an advantage.

Mandatory Experience

  • Minimum eight years of experience in cleaning operations and housekeeping training.
  • Experience working in a shopping mall or airport environment is mandatory.
  • Strong operational knowledge of high-footfall, public-facing facilities.
  • Proven experience delivering practical cleaning training, induction, coaching and employee assessments.
  • Experience supervising or monitoring large housekeeping and cleaning teams.
  • Experience developing training materials, competency assessments and refresher programmes.
  • Facilities Management industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
