Job Scope:

To lead and manage all import and customs clearance activities, ensuring full compliance with Egyptian customs regulations while maintaining speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency in the clearance of goods — particularly within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Customs Operations Management
  • Lead and supervise daily import and customs clearance operations.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of customs declarations and import documentation.
  • Ensure full compliance with Egyptian Customs regulations, NFSA requirements, and Nafeza/ACID procedures.
  • Monitor shipment clearance timelines to ensure release within free time and avoid demurrage or storage penalties.
  • Manage customs duties, taxes, drawback processes, and refund cycles.
2. Compliance & Risk Control
  • Ensure accurate HS Code classification according to Egyptian Customs Tariff regulations.
  • Review and validate shipping documents to prevent compliance risks and documentation errors.
  • Resolve customs disputes related to valuation, classification, or documentation discrepancies.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customs brokers, authorities, NFSA, and Nafeza.
  • Ensure avoidance of fines, penalties, and operational delays due to regulatory non-compliance.
3. Process Optimization & Performance Monitoring
  • Analyze customs data to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
  • Standardize documentation workflows and customs clearance procedures.
  • Implement and optimize digital platforms such as Nafeza and CargoX.
  • Track KPIs related to clearance lead time, compliance accuracy, and cost control.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives within logistics and supply chain operations.
4. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Customs & Import team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support team development in coordination with HR.
  • Collaborate with Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, Procurement, and Quality teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide internal guidance on customs regulations and trade compliance requirements.
  • Ensure effective communication between internal stakeholders and external authorities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Import & Customs Clearance.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or Team Lead role.
  • Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Egyptian customs regulations and trade compliance frameworks.
Technical Skills:
  • Solid understanding of Egyptian Customs Tariff and HS Codes (food ingredients preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with Nafeza, CargoX, and ACID systems.
  • SAP experience is a must.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Work Conditions:

Location: 6th of October City – 4th Industrial Zone
Working Days: Sunday to Thursday
Working Hours: 08:00 AM – 04:00 PM
