About the school
Our client operates an exceeding-rated preparatory school (Ages 3-8). We seek an outstanding kindergarten teacher (primary or early year degree qualified) to join their talented team starting in January 2025. This is a fixed term contract of one-year with the possibility of further opportunities as the year draws to an end.
Unique in its delivery of early childhood education, the school focuses on authenticity, relational learning, and hands-on learning. It has instilled a culture with high expectations of what young children can do, think, and learn. Emphasis is placed on inquiry and creativity as children and teachers work towards educational excellence.
A thorough knowledge of the K-2 curriculum, an excellent understanding of individualised and small group learning, and an ability to work in close collaboration with another staff member are essential, as is a willingness to share ideas and bring creative perspectives to this partnership and to the staff as a whole.
Learning is about much more than finding out facts. Our client designs experiences for students that lead them towards deep and meaningful understandings, not just information and answers. As a Teacher, you will be strongly committed to providing learning experiences for children that invite them to question, experiment, wonder, and work with materials and ideas in playful ways.
Due to the small group sizes, we are able to offer a wide range of extracurricular and enrichment programs to our students. These include music and sports lessons led by specialist teachers, a weekly Chess Club, Mandarin language classes, Code Camp, a martial methods program, and an opportunity to join a Choir for children in Kindergarten, Year 1 & 2.
