Summary

The Advertising & Media Manager for Experience Scottsdale plans and executes Experience Scottsdale's annual media plan and advertising programs targeting leisure travelers, groups, the travel trade and local community. This position manages media buying and vendor relationships, oversees campaign implementation and tracking, and analyzes performance to inform strategic media decisions. This role reports to the Director of Marketing.

  • Media Plan Creation & Management: Works with the VP of Marketing and Director of Marketing on media plan strategy and produces the annual media plan document. Plans and manages the annual media plan for leisure travelers, groups, travel trade and local community based on seasonal needs, annual goals and marketing personas. Meets with all departments to understand annual goals and prior-year performance and makes recommendations for the annual media plan. Manages media contacts and media buying duties, including sourcing media kits, evaluating emerging platforms and technologies, and presenting advertising opportunities that align with media plan strategy. Reconciles the media plan budget against actuals monthly to keep spending on track.
  • Media Plan Implementation: Manages media buying and vendor partnerships, secures advertising placements, and inputs placements into project management software. Handles all logistics associated with advertising and media buys, including creating work orders, recommending content and imagery based on placement audiences, submitting and reviewing assets, and reporting on performance. Manages vendor relationships for marketing activations and events and provides onsite management. Ensures accurate tracking implementation, including UTM codes and pixel placement, following established best practices. Manages self-serve advertising platforms for connected television and audio streaming, including uploading creative, building audiences, setting budgets, monitoring performance and providing monthly reporting.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Gathers monthly performance data from all advertising and media placements. Inputs metrics into monthly reporting documents. Analyzes the performance of each placement to determine effectiveness and identify optimization opportunities. Provides performance insights and recommendations to the Director of Marketing and VP of Marketing to guide strategic media decisions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in media plan creation, management, analysis and strategy.
  • Experience with UTM tracking, pixel placement, GA4 and assessing media placement performance.
  • Ability to effectively work with members, coworkers, and management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience with self-serve advertising platforms such as MNTN.
  • Familiarity with attribution reporting and multi-touch measurement.
  • Experience with database and project management software.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as marketing, communications, or business administration. Minimum of 5 years of work experience in marketing, advertising or media. Experience in the hospitality industry preferred.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This job includes both work in an office setting and remote work. It also requires active participation in outside meetings and destination activities. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. This position requires up to 10% travel.
