Requirements for HRIS Technology Consultant, Workday
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field required.

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive HRIS experience supporting enterprise HR technology platforms.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Workday administration, configuration, implementation, and support experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple Workday functional areas including HCM, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent Management, Security, Payroll, Time Tracking, Learning, or Performance Management.
  • Experience gathering business requirements, documenting processes, configuring solutions, and conducting user acceptance testing.
  • Experience managing Workday releases, updates, and feature deployments.
  • Experience supporting HR technology initiatives within the financial services, banking, insurance, wealth management, or related regulated industries preferred.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, system integrations, and organizational change initiatives preferred.

Must be US Citizen or Authorized to Work in the United States

SKILLS:
Skills and Abilities Required for HRIS Technology Consultant, Workday

  • Strong knowledge of Workday business process configuration and optimization.
  • Experience with Workday reporting, dashboards, calculated fields, and analytics.
  • Understanding of Workday security administration and role-based access controls.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data management, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience with system integrations and data exchange processes.
  • Familiarity with HR technology ecosystems and cloud-based enterprise applications.

Certifications

  • Workday certifications preferred.
  • Relevant HRIS, technology, or project management certifications are a plus.
  • Advanced Workday configuration and administration expertise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design.
  • Knowledge of HR data management, reporting, and analytics.
  • Understanding of system testing methodologies and change management processes.

The HRIS Technology Consultant will be responsible for the administration, configuration, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement of Workday across multiple functional areas. This position combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic business partnership, driving operational excellence, process automation, data integrity, reporting capabilities, and an exceptional employee experience.

The ideal candidate possesses deep Workday expertise, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across a complex financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced support and troubleshooting for Workday-related issues and user inquiries.
  • Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.
  • Configure, test, document, and migrate system changes through development, testing, and production environments.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders, subject matter experts, and business stakeholders to optimize business processes and improve user experience.
  • Design, develop, and maintain standard and advanced Workday reports, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Review, test, and implement Workday releases, enhancements, and new functionality.
  • Serve as the Workday subject matter expert for enterprise-wide initiatives and strategic projects.
  • Lead HR technology improvements that increase efficiency, automation, compliance, and employee self-service adoption.
  • Partner with IT teams to assess downstream impacts of system changes and integrations.
  • Develop user guides, training materials, and documentation to support system adoption.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and Workday best practices.
  • Establish and maintain HRIS governance, security protocols, and data integrity standards.
  • Ensure alignment between business processes, compliance requirements, and technology solutions.
  • Train, mentor, and provide guidance to HRIS team members and business users.
  • Support confidential initiatives, organizational restructuring efforts, and merger and acquisition activities as needed.
