Remote HR Manager – Recruitment & Payroll

Location: South Africa (Remote)

Hours: Full-Time | US Business Hours - 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (SA Time)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive HR Manager to build and manage a growing offshore workforce. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing recruitment, onboarding, payroll coordination, HR compliance, employee relations, performance management, and company culture. The successful candidate will partner closely with leadership to develop scalable HR systems and support continued organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities:


Recruitment & Talent Acquisition:
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from sourcing to onboarding.
Develop job descriptions, coordinate interviews, and maintain a strong candidate pipeline.

Human Resources:
Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes.
Maintain employee records, HR documentation, policies, and employee relations.

Payroll & Attendance:
Coordinate payroll processes and review timesheets, attendance, PTO, and payroll discrepancies.
Work closely with finance to ensure payroll accuracy.

Compliance:
Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and HR documentation requirements.
Track certifications, training requirements, and compliance deadlines.

Performance Management:
Support performance reviews, KPI tracking, coaching initiatives, and employee development programs.
Assist managers with performance improvement plans and retention initiatives.

Leadership & Process Improvement:
Develop and improve HR processes, SOPs, and workforce planning strategies.
Support leadership with organizational development and company culture initiatives.
Prepare HR reports and provide recommendations to leadership.

Requirements

5+ years of Human Resources leadership experience.
Experience managing recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and employee relations.
Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance.
Experience supporting remote or offshore teams.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems.
Experience developing HR policies, SOPs, and scalable people processes.
