Job Summary:
As a Commercial Line Underwriter specializing in property and casualty insurance, your crucial role revolves around evaluating and managing risks for businesses seeking insurance coverage. You will meticulously assess insurance applications, analyzing various factors such as property values, potential hazards, and the overall financial stability of the businesses. Your expertise in risk assessment and knowledge of the insurance industry will guide you in determining appropriate coverage and pricing that aligns with the level of risk involved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk Evaluation: Assess insurance applications by analyzing property values, potential hazards, and financial stability of businesses to determine risk levels.
- Underwriting Decisions: Utilize your expertise in risk assessment to determine appropriate coverage and pricing for insurance policies.
- Policy Monitoring: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness and profitability of issued policies, making adjustments as necessary to mitigate risks and maintain a balanced insurance portfolio.
- Client Interaction: Collaborate with brokers and clients to understand their insurance needs, provide expert guidance, and resolve any inquiries or concerns.
- Documentation: Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all underwriting decisions and documentation, minimizing the risk of errors or oversights.
- Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure a smooth underwriting process and satisfactory client experience.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in underwriting, specifically within property and casualty insurance.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in insurance industry software and tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Technical Requirements:
- Own laptop and stable internet connection.
Work Environment:
- Remote Work: This position is fully remote, with working hours from 3 PM to 11 PM SA time
