Patient Intake Specialist (Weekend and Evening Hours)

Remote: 2 hours in the evening (Weekends Saturday +Sunday 6- 8 hours)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Patient Intake Specialist to assist nursing homes with onboarding new patients. The role requires reviewing patient forms and referrals, ensuring accurate and thorough assessments to prevent potential issues or risks. Candidates with a clinical background, such as experience as a nurse or medical secretary, are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review patient files, referrals, and medical records to ensure eligibility and identify potential issues or risks.
• Verify and process all patient documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with nursing home staff to address any concerns identified during the onboarding process.
• Use clinical knowledge to interpret referrals from hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
• Maintain organized and accurate records of all patient intakes and assessments.
• Communicate effectively with hospital discharge planners, nursing home administrators, and other stakeholders.
• Provide support during evening hours and weekends, working approximately 20 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Clinical experience is highly preferred (e.g., Nurse, Medical Secretary, or similar healthcare role).
• Strong ability to review and interpret medical records and referrals.
• Familiarity with patient intake processes in healthcare settings.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Sales experience or ability to effectively liaise with stakeholders is a plus.

Work Schedule:

• Saturdays and Sundays (US hours).
• Weekday evenings (approximately 2 hours per evening, South Africa time).
• Total weekly hours: Approximately 20.
