QuickBooks Bookkeeper (Accounts-Based Accounting Industry)
Position Title: QuickBooks Bookkeeper
Reports To: Finance Manager / Accountant
Remote position - 3pm to 11pm SA Hours
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QuickBooks Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day financial transactions of the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and supporting month-end and year-end financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong QuickBooks Online experience, excellent organizational skills, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online.
- Process and record daily financial transactions.
- Manage the full Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, supplier reconciliations, and payment preparation.
- Manage Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, allocations, collections, and account follow-ups.
- Perform monthly bank, credit card, and loan account reconciliations.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate coding of transactions.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Prepare financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow reports.
- Process journal entries where required.
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation and filing systems.
- Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and management as needed.
- Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations where applicable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience.
- Proven experience using QuickBooks Online.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
- Proficiency in bank reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance qualification.
- QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification advantageous.
- Experience working with international clients or multi-entity businesses.
- Exposure to payroll processing and month-end reporting.
