Role Snapshot:
The position calls for overseeing fiscal operations, ensuring alignment with industry standards, and steering the financial strategy to support broader organizational ambitions. The role includes everything from day-to-day financial management to long-range planning and high-level advisement.
Primary Functions:
- Partner with senior leadership to shape financial plans that support the organization's direction.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on financial matters tied to major business decisions and initiatives.
- Lead the creation and rollout of budgets, financial forecasts, and strategic economic models.
- Dive into financial data to uncover insights and support executive decision-making.
- Engage actively in board sessions, offering clear and actionable financial updates and recommendations.
- Deliver timely and informative financial reports to internal committees, seeking feedback and buy-in.
- Ensure all financial documentation is prepared accurately and in line with accepted standards and regulations.
- Deliver clear and comprehensive reports to senior leaders, board members, and key external partners.
- Fortify financial safeguards by improving internal controls and ensuring legal compliance.
- Stay on top of regulatory shifts and guide the organization through necessary adjustments.
- Lead a high-performing finance team, promoting ongoing development and excellence.
- Provide clear direction in accounting, reporting, and financial evaluation areas.
- Manage the budget-setting process alongside department leaders to develop practical financial targets.
- Track progress against budget goals and offer course-correcting suggestions when needed.
- Translate financial results and projections into insights that guide executive and board-level conversations.
- Team up with other departments to align financial plans with the organizations mission and strategy.
- Lead both internal and external audits, ensuring timelines are met and outcomes are addressed.
- Apply audit recommendations to boost financial oversight and transparency.
- Continuously assess and improve financial workflows to enhance precision and scalability.
- Work closely with IT to implement and maintain systems that support financial operations.
Ideal Background:
- Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; advanced credentials (such as CPA) are a plus.
- Demonstrated history of success in senior-level finance roles, supervising small teams.
- Background in Healthcare, Home Health, Nursing Home, or similar, with an understanding of Medicaid.
- Solid understanding of financial controls, compliance, and core accounting practices.
- Strong analytical thinking paired with clear, strategic problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communicator with proven leadership skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Skilled in Excel and familiar with financial platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, FRx, and MITS. Experience implementing new finance software helpful.
Other Essentials:
- Comfortable handling inquiries from regulatory bodies or community stakeholders - understanding non-profit organizations is helpful.
- Strong aptitude in mathematics and analytical reasoning.
- Able to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate findings with clarity and confidence.
- Must have solid organizational and tech skills, including experience with digital banking tools and financial software.
- Advanced certifications such as a CPA or graduate-level business degree are preferred.
Compensation range: $95-105k + bonus, Health/Vision/Life insurance, 403B, PTO, Hybrid Schedule (on-site Tues/Thurs and meetings as needed).
