Background
The AFAWA project, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), seeks to empower women-led businesses (WEBs) and women employees in ETGs agribusiness supply chains. The programme includes training, employability improvement, financial inclusion, and market linkages.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in project management, Development Studies, Business Administration, Gender Studies, or a related field. Master's degree in project management, Development Studies, Business Administration, Gender Studies, or a related field will be an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing development projects, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience coordinating with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector actors.
- Knowledge of women's economic empowerment, financial inclusion, or entrepreneurship programmes.
- Strong skills in staff management, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and reporting.
- Familiarity with donor-funded projects (AfDB, World Bank, UN) is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in the national language of the assigned country.
- Willingness to travel within the country to field implementation sites.
