About the job Senior New Product Developer
We are looking for a New Product Development (NPD) Manager who will be responsible for leading the ideation, development, and launch of new, innovative products that align with our brands vision. This role requires a candidate with a deep passion for food, a solid understanding of health-oriented ingredients, and a dedication to challenging conventional thinking within the food industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Ideation & Development
- Conduct market research and analyze consumer trends to identify new product opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, quality control) to develop and optimize product formulations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ingredient Knowledge & Health Focus
- Demonstrate expertise in ingredients and their health benefits, ensuring that products meet regulatory and Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) guidelines.
- Project Management
- Oversee the product development lifecycle from concept to commercialization, managing timelines, budgets, and project goals.
- Coordinate testing, trials, and adjustments to ensure product quality, safety, and consumer appeal.
- Innovation & Market Differentiation
- Challenge traditional ideas and proactively identify opportunities for innovation in the functional and healthy snack category.
- Experiment with and incorporate unconventional ingredients or preparation methods to enhance product uniqueness and appeal.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor's or master's degree in food science, nutrition, product development or related field.
- 6+ years in product development within the food industry, ideally in health-focused or functional food products.
- Proven track record of successful product launches from concept to market.
- Extensive understanding of ingredients and their associated health benefits.
- Awareness of relevant food industry regulations and RDA standards.
- Passion for food and nutrition.
- Ability to question and rethink established practices and norms in food development.
- Go-getter mentality with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of independently driving projects.
- Solution-oriented thinker who values discipline and commitment to quality and timelines.
