About the job Operations Manager
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to establish and manage a nuts processing unit in Vietnam. The ideal candidate will identify the optimal location for the facility, liaise with local processors and suppliers to ensure the best quality and pricing of nuts sourced locally, manage the plant team, and oversee production planning based on the sales schedule. A strong understanding of BRC (British Retail Consortium) standards is a significant advantage. Proficiency in English and Vietnamese is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct market research to identify the most suitable location for the nuts processing unit.
- Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders to secure necessary permits and approvals.
- Oversee the setting up of the processing facility, including procurement of equipment and infrastructure
- Build relationships with local processors and suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality nuts at competitive prices.
- Conduct regular quality checks and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the processing unit.
- Lead, train, and supervise the plant team to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
- Develop and implement production plans aligned with sales schedules.
- Ensure compliance with BRC standards and other relevant food safety and quality regulations.
- Implement and monitor quality control processes to maintain high production standards.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal stakeholders, including sales and supply chain teams.
- Prepare regular reports on production, quality, and supplier performance.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelors degree in food technology, business Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in setting up and managing food processing units, preferably in the nuts or dry fruits industry.
- Strong understanding of BRC standards and other relevant quality certifications.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in English and Vietnamese (spoken and written).
- Familiarity with local markets and supplier networks in Vietnam is an advantage.
