Background
The AFAWA project, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), seeks to empower women-led businesses (WEBs) and women employees in ETGs agribusiness supply chains. The programme includes training, employability improvement, financial inclusion, and market linkages
Qualification
- Master's degree in Gender Studies, International Development, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in coordinating gender, entrepreneurship, or women's empowerment programmes in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-country donor-funded projects (AfDB experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of financial inclusion, market systems, and private sector development for women.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and engage with a wide range of partners.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and report writing skills.
- Fluency in English required; working knowledge of Portuguese or Swahili is an asset.
- Willingness to travel regularly to implementation sites across the four countries.
