Background
The AFAWA project, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), seeks to empower women-led businesses (WEBs) and women employees in ETGs agribusiness supply chains. The programme includes training, employability improvement, financial inclusion, and market linkages.
Qualification
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Master's degree and/or CPA or ACCA certification will be an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in project accounting or financial management of donor-funded programmes (experience with AfDB, World Bank, or similar institutions preferred).
- Familiarity with multi-country project accounting and foreign currency management.
- Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and audit preparation.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of Portuguese or Swahili is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to project implementation sites across the four countries as needed.
