Background
The AFAWA project, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), seeks to empower women-led businesses (WEBs) and women employees in ETGs agribusiness supply chains. The programme includes training, employability improvement, financial inclusion, and market linkages.
Qualification
- A bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Development Studies, or a related field is required. Master's degree in these fields will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in communications for development, preferably in gender, entrepreneurship, or donor-funded programmes.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio of multimedia content.
- Proven experience managing digital communications and engaging with media outlets.
- Familiarity with AfDB, World Bank, or other donor visibility guidelines is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
- Fluency in English required; working knowledge of Portuguese or Swahili is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel to implementation sites across all four countries.
