Role Summary
our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Salon Channel Head to lead the growth and development of its professional salon business across key markets in Nigeria.
The role will focus on expanding the salon customer base, increasing outlet productivity and secondary sales, developing premium salon accounts, strengthening distributor coverage, and building strong relationships with salon owners, professional stylists, educators, and salon associations.
The successful candidate will combine strong sales leadership, channel management expertise, territory development capability, and practical knowledge of the professional beauty and salon market.


Key Responsibilities

Salon Channel Sales & Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow the professional salon channel across assigned territories.
  • Drive salon registrations, productive outlet coverage, secondary sales, and revenue growth.
  • Monitor sales performance against agreed targets and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to improve outlet productivity, market penetration, and channel contribution.

Salon Acquisition & Development

  • Drive the acquisition and registration of new salon outlets across target markets.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of high-potential and premium salon accounts.
  • Develop strategies to increase the commercial contribution of premium salons.
  • Build strong relationships with salon owners, stylists, educators, and key salon influencers.

Salon Association & Stylist Engagement

  • Develop and maintain relationships with salon associations and professional stylist communities.
  • Drive participation in relevant industry events, engagements, and professional initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities that improve brand visibility and engagement within the salon community.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that can strengthen channel presence and commercial performance.

Distributor & Territory Management

  • Strengthen salon distribution and product availability across key markets.
  • Identify opportunities for market expansion across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Kaduna, and other strategic territories.
  • Work with distributors to improve outlet coverage, product availability, and secondary sales.
  • Monitor territory performance and address distribution gaps.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Supervisors and Educators to deliver channel objectives.
  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular team performance reviews.
  • Identify capability gaps and coordinate appropriate coaching, training, and product knowledge initiatives.
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer engagement, and commercial results.

Brand Engagement & Product Knowledge

  • Coordinate regular product knowledge sessions for field teams, salon outlets, educators, and relevant associations.
  • Organize monthly educator engagement/townhall sessions and regional stylist engagement activities within approved budgets.
  • Support brand-building initiatives within the professional salon community.
  • Ensure teams are equipped with relevant product knowledge and effective selling techniques.

Digital Adoption & Performance Reporting

  • Drive consistent adoption and usage of the SFA application across relevant Educator teams.
  • Maintain a minimum of 90% SFA adherence and usage.
  • Utilize sales data and digital tools to improve outlet management, sales tracking, and decision-making.
  • Prepare regular channel performance reports and provide actionable business insights to management.


Requirements
Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in Sales, Marketing, or a related field is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sales, channel management, business development, or commercial operations.
  • Experience in beauty, cosmetics, personal care, FMCG, professional hair care, or a related industry is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience managing field-based sales teams and multiple territories.
  • Demonstrated experience working with salons, salon owners, professional stylists, educators, distributors, or beauty professionals.
  • Strong understanding of secondary sales, outlet productivity, distribution, and channel development.
