Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Lagos, Ogun State & Ibadan

Work Structure: Fully Onsite

Remuneration: ₦750,000 – ₦1,000,000 Gross Monthly

Role Summary
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, statutory compliance, budgeting, and financial controls across business operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by ensuring the accuracy of financial records, optimizing accounting processes, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.



Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Oversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Financial Control & Compliance
  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate tax filings, regulatory reporting, and external audits.
  • Monitor financial risks and recommend control improvements.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Monitor operating costs and recommend opportunities for cost optimization.
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff where applicable.
  • Improve accounting processes and promote operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within the manufacturing or FMCG sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
