Compensation: $170,000 – $210,000 USD + equity

About the Role

We are hiring a Full Stack Engineer to rebuild and stabilize the core customer journey of a large-scale marketplace product, spanning:

Search Listing Details Booking Post-booking experience

Today, key business logic (pricing, inventory, availability) is fragmented across frontend and backend systems. This role is critical in consolidating these into a clean backend domain model with well-defined API contracts, enabling teams to ship safely and scale faster.

This is a high-ownership engineering role with Staff-level scope, working closely with engineering leadership and influencing multiple product teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Own full-stack delivery across core marketplace flows (search, detail pages, booking, accounts)
• Design and implement end-to-end features: UI, APIs, data models, instrumentation, and rollout strategy
• Consolidate and refactor pricing and inventory logic into a unified backend domain
• Define and enforce API contracts (filtering, pagination, versioning, performance constraints)
• Improve system reliability, observability, and operational readiness (dashboards, alerts, tracing, runbooks)
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate complex system logic into clear user experiences
• Contribute to frontend architecture patterns in a modern React/Next.js codebase
• Mentor engineers and participate in code reviews and technical decision-making

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience building production web or full-stack applications
• Strong ability to work across frontend and backend systems
• Experience with API design and database systems (schema design, query optimization)
• Proven ability to deliver end-to-end features (UI API data deployment monitoring)
• Comfortable working in complex, distributed codebases
• Strong product and engineering ownership mindset
