POSITION PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to partner with the plant leadership to promote a proactive safety culture by identifying and eliminating hazards before an incident occurs.
Assists the Safety Manager with the implementation and maintenance of policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned.
Assist the Safety Manager with the review and revision of existing programs as well as implementation of new safety programs to ensure company compliance with regulatory standards.
Partner with operations and other functions in the plant to review current work practices and advise them with regard to changes as needed to improve risk.
Provide direction for the plants incident reporting and investigation processes. This includes the determination of root cause(s), assigning corrective actions, and tracking those actions to closure with the goal of preventing similar incidents in the future.
Develop and deliver plant safety training to all associates on a monthly basis. Review site training program and make revisions as needed to improve training effectiveness and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Conduct specialized safety training. Evaluate training effectiveness and take steps to improve the sites training program when necessary.
Perform routine audits and inspections to evaluate sites compliance with the companys Corporate Safety programs as well as compliance with regulatory safety standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of two (2) years experience in an industrial manufacturing setting (including assembly/machine shop).
Must have supervisory experience in a high volume, fast-paced facility.
Previous experience, and/or an undergraduate degree, in safety a plus
Certificates, licenses, registrations:
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
CPE, CSP or CIH certification a plus.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
