This is a leadership role for builders who want ownership, trust, and room to grow. A woman-owned construction company in Augusta, Maine, is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead commercial, institutional, industrial, and historic renovation projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role owns schedules, budgets, teams, and client relationships while partnering closely with assistant PMs, superintendents, and leadership to deliver high-quality work the right way, the first time. Theyre looking for a confident, experienced construction leader who takes pride in accountability, thrives without micromanagement, and wants to build long-term in Maine. The ideal candidate is a seasoned project manager with strong commercial construction experience, a can-do mindset, and the judgment to lead people, projects, and clients with confidence and integrity.
Senior Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from preconstruction through construction and warranty phases
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource strategies
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Oversee cost control, schedule adherence, and scope changes
- Lead and mentor assistant project managers and site superintendents
- Ensure quality, safety, and compliance with all project plans and regulations
- Identify risks early and proactively drive solutions
- Review drawings, specifications, and construction documents for accuracy
- Represent the company professionally within the business and construction community
- Visit job sites regularly to stay connected to field operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership and operations teams
Senior Project Manager Requirements:
- 7 – 10 years of progressive construction experience, including time as a Project Manager
- Commercial construction experience
- Experience with construction management and design-build projects
- Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture required
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Experience with project management software
- Procore experience preferred
- Organized, confident communicator who handles demanding clients well
- Team-first mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed
- Bachelors degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture preferred
- PMP certification preferred
