Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Engineer to one of our clients in the Maritime industry. As a Procurement Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for our company's projects and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and services for our maritime projects.
- Identify potential suppliers and negotiate contracts and prices for materials and services.
- Monitor market trends and changes in supplier pricing and availability to make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to determine project-specific material and service requirements.
- Review and analyze technical specifications and drawings to ensure materials and services meet project requirements.
- Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure quality and compliance with company standards.
- Manage supplier relationships and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Develop and maintain procurement documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance reports.
- Monitor and track procurement activities to ensure on-time delivery of materials and services.
- Participate in cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement to continuously improve processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the maritime industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
- Familiarity with technical specifications and drawings.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
- Knowledge of maritime regulations and standards is a plus.
