Position: HSE Director

Job Overview:
As the HSE Director, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management within our organization. You will work closely with senior management and all departments to ensure that our operations and processes comply with all relevant regulations and standards, while also promoting a culture of safety and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in line with industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Provide leadership and guidance to all employees on HSE matters, promoting a proactive safety culture and encouraging continuous improvement
- Monitor and analyze HSE data to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address any issues
- Manage the company's emergency response and crisis management plans, ensuring they are regularly tested and updated
- Coordinate with external agencies and authorities on HSE matters, including regulatory inspections and incident investigations
- Conduct training and awareness programs for employees on HSE topics, including emergency response procedures and safe work practices
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and changes in regulations, and advise senior management on potential impacts to the company's operations
- Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and HR, to ensure HSE considerations are integrated into all aspects of the business
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 17+ years of experience in HSE management, preferably in the maritime industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, including OSHA, IMO, and ISM Code
- Proven experience in developing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
- Experience in conducting audits and inspections, and managing incident investigations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential safety risks
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with external stakeholders
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CMIOSH are highly desirable
