PURPOSE OF POSITION:
IT Project Manager is a technical professional charged with overseeing the process of planning, executing and delegating responsibilities around an organization's information technology (IT) pursuits and goals. The IT Project Manager works with team members spread across different offices and disciplines. The IT Project Manager is to ensure that projects are delivered smoothly on-time and on-budget with minimal unexpected stoppages in work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects
• Coordinates deadlines and monitoring activities on project execution, gate reviews, technical baselines and milestone reviews, and status updates in written and oral manner. Can oversee work products of subordinates to ensure relational information and program or policy information remains relevant to reporting status, government formats, and formal reviews.
• Plans, organizes, and integrates data and relevant information in to achieve critical milestones, reviews and manages project progress over a project’s life-cycle.
- Responsible for advising managers on calculated or known changes in status, logistics and/or crucial data influencing the progress of projected and realized events.
• Prepares reports regarding status, issues, risks, financial and other requested data. May also review artifacts or contributions made by subordinate contractors prior to submission.
• Evaluates, recommends, and implements procedures for data acquisition, management and quality control.
• Familiar with a variety of project management principles, practices, and procedures.
• Integrates and validates project data and liaisons within and across departments or experts to acquire and report pertinent facts, relational information, or statistical impact to timelines, financial execution/spend plans.
- Evaluates and recommends statistical methods for data analysis, and monitors and interprets results of analysis.
- Serves as a key resource for project information and resolves problems or questions referred by internal and external sources.
• Excellence in communication on quasi-technical and programmatic elements to ensure accurate and timely information.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma plus 2 years of project management experience
Certifications:
Candidate with a certification is a plus:
- PMP
- CAPM
- CompTIA Project +
- MPM
- CPM
- PMITS
- APM
- PPM
- ITIL
Skills:
- Adapt and implement new procedures as required to provide excellent customer support
- Willing to learn new technologies and stay current on the latest industry trends
- Excellent listening, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Professionally and effectively communicate; both verbal and written at all levels within the organization
- Self-starter, able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Maintain complete confidentiality of sensitive information
- Proficient knowledge with MS Office applications
General Requirements:
- US Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- May be required to work additional hours to support business objectives
- Limited availability to take leave during peak business cycles to support business objectives
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle are required for this position as it requires client onsite support.
- Ability to maintain valid driver's license issued within the United States and proof of personal liability insurance (applicable for mileage reimbursement)
- Must be willing to submit to assessment, background, and illegal substance testing prior to employment
- Ability to travel, up to 75% of time to domestic locations
