We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the end-to-end accounting and financial operations of a growing US IT Staffing and Recruitment organization. This role requires strong expertise in client billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close, along with a solid understanding of staffing industry financial operations.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with a US IT Staffing, Recruitment, or Professional Staffing organization, possess excellent analytical and reconciliation skills, and be comfortable collaborating with recruiters, account managers, payroll providers, and clients.

Shift Hours: 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM IST

Qualifications

  • CA Inter (Mandatory) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of accounting experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience supporting a US IT Staffing, Recruitment, or Professional Staffing organization
  • Experience supporting US Government/Federal, State, or Commercial staffing clients is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of consultant billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, timesheet reconciliation, and staffing financial operations
  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online/Enterprise, Zoho Books, or similar accounting platforms
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience processing US consultant payroll is a plus

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and reconcile client invoices based on consultant timesheets, bill rates, and contractual terms
  • Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting activities
  • Coordinate with recruiters, account managers, payroll providers, and clients to resolve billing, payroll, and timesheet discrepancies
  • Track consultant pay rates, client bill rates, gross margins, contractor costs, and placement revenue
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Prepare GST, TDS, statutory filings, and ensure compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations
  • Assist with cash flow management, financial reporting, and management MIS reporting
  • Maintain accurate financial records for contractor payments, vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, and recruiter incentive payouts
  • Ensure compliance with client-specific billing requirements, including US Government/Federal contracts where applicable
  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting, payroll, and billing processes using technology and AI-enabled tools
  • Support consultant payroll processing by validating approved timesheets and coordinating with payroll providers, when required

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting accounting operations for a US IT Staffing, Recruitment, or Professional Staffing organization
  • Familiarity with W2, C2C, and 1099 billing models, contractor payroll, and timesheet-based invoicing
  • Experience with US consultant payroll processing (preferred, not mandatory)
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills
  • Experience processing US consultant payroll is highly desirable but not mandatory.
