Backend Developer

  • Location: Louisville, KY
  • Work Model: Hybrid; 2 Days a Week Onsite
  • Employment Type: Contract - W2 (Not open third parties, C2C inquiries, etc.)
  • Contract Duration: 6 months with possible contract extension
  • US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Status Required

Summary

Our client is looking for a Backend Developer to join their team! In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop AI-enabled web applications that integrate text-mining engines and machine learning models to support Risk Adjustment and Stars activities. You will collaborate closely with Medicare risk adjustment teams to enhance the application and align with evolving business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Medicare risk adjustment and Stars teams to implement new features
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using the Django REST framework to support various enterprise applications
  • Design, implement, and manage SQL Server databases to ensure performance, reliability, and security of data systems
  • Write comprehensive unit tests to maintain high code quality and test coverage
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with the DevOps team to deploy and maintain web applications in production environments

Requirements

  • 2 + years of experience designing, developing, and testing web applications
  • Proficiency in Python and the Django REST framework for building and maintaining RESTful APIs is required
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server databases, including design, query optimization, and performance tuning
  • Experience with writing and maintaining unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability
  • Ability to optimize applications for speed, scalability, and security
  • Familiarity with DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and deployment in production environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Education/Certification Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree in computer science or a related field is required
