Summary

Our client is seeking a Civil Project Manager focused on Land Development to join their team! In this role, you will lead complex land development and public works initiatives from concept through completion. You will oversee cross-functional teams, manage project schedules and budgets, and coordinate with public agencies and clients to ensure successful outcomes that meet or exceed expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor engineering design teams, providing clear direction and oversight for project deliverables
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, including preparing and negotiating contracts, fees, and scopes of work
  • Collaborate with clients and public agencies to address project requirements, secure approvals, and navigate regulatory processes
  • Guide the preparation of engineering studies, public infrastructure plans, and land development proposals
  • Oversee constructability reviews and provide construction-phase support to ensure project compliance and quality
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, agency personnel, and internal staff

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in land development or public works (or a total of 10 years of industry-related experience)
  • 6+ or more years of experience supervising engineers, designers, and other project support staff
  • Proven ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and contracts
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, and Bluebeam
  • Strong leadership skills, including effective communication, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and best practices in Los Angeles and Ventura County
  • Ability to conduct engineering design studies, coordinate plan submittals, and resolve regulatory issues

Education/Certification Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required

Preferred Requirements

  • California Professional Civil Engineer (PE) license (highly preferred but not required)
  • Proven track record of successful client interactions and public-agency coordination
  • Strong background in negotiation and strategic planning for engineering teams and projects
