Summary

Our client is seeking a Principal Engineering Designer focused on Land Development to join their team! In this role, you will work on impactful projects and collaborate with a cross-functional group of professionals. You will guide the design and execution of land development initiatives, oversee infrastructure improvements, and contribute to regulatory planning processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop grading and public infrastructure designs for residential, multi-family, and corporate development projects
  • Prepare and process technical reports, regulatory documentation, and site plans to obtain entitlements for land development work
  • Coordinate and produce Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for public infrastructure improvements, such as roadways and utility systems
  • Conduct site evaluations to determine infrastructure needs and potential regulatory considerations
  • Oversee plan submissions through relevant public works processes
  • Review projects for constructability and provide construction support services
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of local codes, standards, and requirements
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other tools for effective plan creation and review
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to engineers, designers, and other support staff

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in land development or public works (or a total of eight years of industry-related experience in a comparable role)
  • 2+ years of experience supervising engineers, designers, or project support teams
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and familiarity with Bluebeam for plan development and review
  • In-depth knowledge of jurisdictional procedures and standards, preferably in the Denver region
  • Demonstrated capability to organize project workflows, respond positively to feedback, and manage time effectively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for engagement with internal teams and public agencies

Education/Certification Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Requirements

  • California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer (P.E.)
