Summary

Our client is seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist to join their team! This is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate ready to launch a career in periodontics. You will receive hands-on mentorship from an experienced periodontist while delivering preventive and periodontal care, educating patients about the oral-systemic connection, and mastering the latest digital technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial periodontal and medical history screenings under guidance
  • Explain treatment needs and expected outcomes in clear, patient-friendly language
  • Perform periodontal maintenance therapy during 70-minute appointment blocks with support from the clinical team
  • Carry out scaling and root planing visits of 50-90 minutes per sextant or quadrant while refining your instrumentation skills
  • Review advanced chart audits to prepare for each patient's visit
  • Collaborate with a virtual Dental Assistant for perio charting, documentation, letters, and X-ray sharing
  • Follow preplanned treatment protocols and share updates with the dentist and team
  • Rotate between two practice locations as scheduled to broaden clinical exposure
  • Use 70-minute prep blocks to stay organized and on time throughout the day
  • Educate patients on tailored homecare techniques that promote lifelong periodontal wellness
  • Provide postoperative instructions after nonsurgical periodontal procedures
  • Sterilize and maintain instruments in line with infection control standards
  • Capture digital radiographs, CBCT scans, and digital impressions
  • Record findings, update charts, and help draft correspondence to referring dentists
  • Maintain a supportive, patient-centric atmosphere and uphold all safety protocols

Requirements

  • Solid understanding of basic infection control and HIPAA principles
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for learning advanced periodontal techniques
  • Physical stamina for chairside care and instrument processing

Education/Certification Requirements

  • Associate or bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene or equivalent
  • Active Registered Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice

Preferred Requirements

  • Certification in nitrous oxide monitoring and local anesthesia is preferred, or the ability to obtain with employer support
