Main Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Software installation and Maintenance
- Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading
- Specialized Data Handling
- Database Backup and Recovery
- Security & Log Review
- Authentication
- Capacity Planning
- Performance Monitoring
- Database Tuning
- Troubleshooting
- Technical:
- Working with Database software (Oracle, SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) to find ways to store, organize and manage data & troubleshooting.
- Keeping Databases up to date.
- Helping with database design and development.
- Designing maintenance procedures and applying them into operational
- Liaising with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff.
- Managing database security/integrity and backup procedures.
- Defining objectives through consultation with staff at all levels.
- Writing reports, documentation, and operating manuals.
- Testing and modifying databases, application to ensure that they operate reliably.
- Providing user training, support, and feedback.
Archiving data.
- Proper log review, reporting and recordation of resolutions (if any).
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or relevant certification.
Proven working experience as a Database or Application support (minimum 2 years).
