Responsibilities and Duties:
School Leadership and Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the Chinese Program at the school level, ensuring adherence to SCHOOL's policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement the Chinese Program's academic schedule and programming, ensuring alignment with IPM's strategic vision and SCHOOL's trilingual education approach.
- Manage the Chinese Program's budget and resources effectively.
- Conduct regular classroom observations, provide feedback to teachers, and ensure adherence to SCHOOL's pedagogical standards within the Chinese Program.
- Oversee student discipline and implement a positive and supportive school environment.
Curriculum and Instruction:
- Collaborate with IPM and teachers to implement the Chinese Program curriculum effectively, fostering both language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Select and manage instructional materials and resources aligned with the Chinese Program curriculum and national standards for Chinese language learning.
- Support teachers in developing and implementing engaging, culturally rich lesson plans that align with SCHOOL's overall pedagogical approach.
- Foster a culture of professional development among Chinese Program teachers, encouraging participation in relevant workshops and training opportunities.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement assessment strategies that track student progress in Chinese language proficiency.
Student Support and Success:
- Monitor student progress in the Chinese Program and identify areas where additional support is needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop and implement targeted interventions to address student learning challenges within the Chinese Program.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and academic performance within the Chinese Program.
- Organize and oversee student activities and events that foster a strong sense of cultural identity and appreciation for Chinese language and culture within the Chinese Program.
Community Engagement:
- Build relationships with Chinese-speaking parents and community members to strengthen the Chinese Program and create a welcoming environment.
- Organize events and programs that celebrate Chinese culture and traditions, fostering intercultural understanding within the wider SCHOOL school community.
- Collaborate with external partners and organizations to enhance the Chinese Program's offerings and provide students with opportunities to connect with the wider Chinese-speaking world.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with IPM to ensure alignment between the school-level Chinese Program, SCHOOL's overall strategic direction, and trilingual education approach.
- Collaborate with the National Program Manager s to promote a cohesive trilingual learning environment and develop collaborative teaching initiatives across programs where applicable.
- Maintain effective communication with teachers, parents, students, and support staff, fostering a strong sense of community.
General Support:
- Provide additional operational and administrative support as needed to achieve SCHOOL's strategic goals within the Chinese Program.
- Undertake other tasks as assigned to support the mission and goals of SCHOOL.
