About the job Chief Finance Officer

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Financial Management and Oversight:
  • Develop and implement SCHOOL's financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet SCHOOL's operational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with Cambodian accounting standards, tax regulations, and donor reporting requirements.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Collaborate with the COO and department heads to develop SCHOOL's annual budget.
  • Monitor budget performance, identify variances, and propose corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement financial models and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
  • Analyze financial trends and provide insights to support resource allocation and optimize financial performance.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Manage internal and external audits, ensuring timely preparation and successful completion.
  • Address audit findings and implement recommendations to strengthen financial controls.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting:
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for the COO, President and Group CEO, and the Board of Directors.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, areas for cost savings, and potential risks.
  • Recommend strategies to enhance SCHOOL's financial performance and sustainability.

Tuition Fee Management:

  • Develop and implement tuition fee schedules and policies.
  • Oversee tuition fee collection and billing processes.
  • Manage student financial records and ensure accuracy.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the heads of the accounting units, providing training and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, transparency, and ethical conduct within the finance team.

General Support:

  • Provide additional operational and administrative support as needed to achieve SCHOOL's strategic goals.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives as directed.
  • Undertake other tasks as assigned to support the mission and goals of SCHOOL.*
