IT Support Technician (Contract)
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and service-oriented IT Support Technician (Contract) to
provide day-to-day technical support. This role is responsible for supporting end users,
maintaining IT systems, and ensuring reliable operation of computing environments
used for research, laboratory operations, and business functions.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a regulated environment, troubleshooting
a wide range of hardware and software issues, and supporting both office and lab users
in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for employees via ticketing system, email, and in-person assistance.
- Set up and deploy hardware, software, and network devices, Troubleshoot issues across Windows, macOS, mobile devices, and peripherals.
- Support common business applications (Microsoft 365, Okta, Ninja One, CrowdStrike, collaboration tools, VPN, file shares, etc.).
- Provision and deprovision user accounts and permissions in systems such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other SaaS platforms.
- Assist with password resets, MFA setup, and user onboarding/offboarding.
- Maintain Asset inventory of IT equipment including laptops, monitors, docking stations, and lab workstation computers.
- Image, configure, and deploy systems according to company standards.
- Coordinate hardware repairs and vendor support when needed.
- Assist with maintenance and monitoring of network devices, Wi-Fi, printers, and conference room systems.
- Help maintain endpoint security tools, patch management, and antivirus solutions.
- Support backup processes and basic server administration tasks as directed.
- Provide basic IT support for laboratory workstations and instrument-connected computers.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure systems supporting research operations remain functional.
- Document troubleshooting steps, system configurations, and common solutions.
- Assist in improving IT processes and automation where possible.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop support roles.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows and macOS environments.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and common SaaS tools.
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi).
- Experience with ticketing systems and asset management tools.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a small IT team.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with GxP environments or compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting lab instrument computers or scientific software.
- Knowledge of endpoint management tools.
- Scripting knowledge a plus (PS, Bash, etc)
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications.
Contract Details
Contract Length: 9 months to start (through end of 2026)
Schedule: 40 hours/week; 3-4 days onsite/week
