We are seeking an experienced Senior Backup & Recovery Consultant to take ownership of enterprise backup systems, drive resolution for major incidents, and formalize operational documentation. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who excels at Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Responsibilities
- Take lead responsibility for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing highly available, enterprise-grade backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, etc.).
- Lead detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring and complex backup failures, implementing permanent fixes and service improvements.
- Act as a key reviewer and executor for service changes, ensuring strict adherence to ITIL change enablement procedures.
- Actively identify, propose, and implement opportunities for automation and process enhancement to boost service reliability and efficiency.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for customer and internal team inquiries, translating technical problems into clear business impacts.
Requirements
- 3+ years managing and supporting diverse, large-scale enterprise backup and recovery solutions in a multi-client or high-volume environment.
- Strong expertise in VMware vSphere environments and a deep understanding of network storage concepts.
- Process Acumen: Extensive, hands-on experience with formal change management, problem management, and writing high-quality operational and technical documentation.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot issues across OS (Windows/Linux exposure), network, storage, and application layers.
