Our client is a leading multinational company with operations in Batam, specializing in designing and manufacturing electronic products and components for globally recognized brands. They support industry leaders in the design, production, and distribution of household electrical appliances. In Indonesia, the company serves as a vital production center in its worldwide network, prioritizing efficient manufacturing alongside sustainable practices.

Position Overview:

The mechanical engineer position will be responsible for designing, researching, building, testing, and improving mechanical and electrical devices, equipment, and systems. This role will work closely with other departments and provide technical solutions to related departments, vendors, or customers. 

Key Responsibilities:

• The role focuses on mechanical design topics for various projects in the Batam plant, covering areas such as structure, mechanical components and assembly, material selection, and design verification.
• Provide technical solutions to related departments, vendors, or customers regarding mechanical matters.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and other engineers (development, electronic, and packaging) to design components, including structure, mechanical components, and assembly, material selection, and design verification.
• Create and maintain design documentation and manage the processes for any mechanical design.
• Work with sourcing and suppliers to resolve technical issues during sampling and production, coordinate closely with the Global R&D Mechanical design group, optimize project design, and support project handover.
• Communicate with customers and design agencies during design and development; consult team members for solution selection and technical problem-solving; perform other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical and module design, with at least 4 years of experience in the same role or in new product design and development for household appliances.
• Experienced in creating 3D/2D data and skilled in analyzing and improving manufacturing defects.
• Extensive design experience and process knowledge of plastic parts, metallic parts, rubber parts, and mechatronics parts.
• Good command of English and a positive attitude; adaptable to company culture with strong teamwork, influence, problem-solving, continuous improvement mindset, active listening, and presentation skills.
• Willing to be placed in Batam, Kepulauan Riau, Indonesia.
