Department Description and Responsibilities

As an Online Surveyor, you support advanced remote surveying and data collection activities across marine and construction-related projects.

Project Tasks

  • Nearshore massflow trenching and Artemis cable tracking measurements
  • Rockbag placement

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Define and install the required measurement equipment.
  • Perform measurements and process data before, during and after project execution, including field checks, in line with contractual specifications.
  • Validate data accuracy, interpret results and prepare reports for presentation to project management and/or the client.
  • Set up and maintain databases related to survey data.
  • Assess the functioning of measurement systems and ensure proper maintenance in accordance with applicable instructions.

📝 Your profile

  • At least 7 years of experience as an online surveyor in marine or construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrographic survey techniques and equipment.
  • Experience with offshore navigation and positioning systems.
  • Additional experience with subsea acoustic positioning systems and multibeam is required.
  • Hardware knowledge: Exail GAPS USBL + beacons, Septentrio GNSS, Octans, Norbit multibeam, ROV setup, Artemis cable tracker.
  • Software knowledge: QINSY Offshore, QIMERA Offshore and Exail Delphins Subsea.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accurate results.
  • Willingness to work at different locations and adapt to project-specific needs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics or a related field.
  • Eligible to work on location with the required visa or work permit.

Certifications

  • Medical (OGUK)
  • STCW / BOSIET / GWO (First Aid, Fire Awareness or Sea Survival)
  • GWO Boat Transfer (risk assessed)
  • GWO Working at Height

Languages

Fluent spoken and written English. Proficiency in additional languages is a strong asset.
