About the job Analyst-developer ELN (Freelance possible)
Digital mission: digitize laboratory activities through an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) (mainly Idbs).
Global objective: build an integrated digital ecosystem connecting the ELN with lab equipment (bioreactors, chromatography skids), devices, databases, and other systems to improve automation and data flows.
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation, configuration, and enhancement of the ELN (Idbs / Biovia).
- Develop and maintain ELN templates, workflows, and technical components.
- Contribute to broader digital transformation initiatives within CMC labs.
- Prepare and support the Idbs migration roadmap to Desktop Web Client and Web Client Cloud
Must‑have:
- Hands‑on development experience with ELN systems, ideally Idbs (high priority).
- Previous involvement in ELN implementation or laboratory digitalization projects.
- Strong technical profile (not project management focused).
- Understanding of digital lab ecosystems and system integrations.
- French and English required (many scientists are French-speaking).
- Ability to interact with IT and scientific stakeholders.
Nice‑to‑have:
- Experience with Biovia or other ELNs.
- Knowledge of related systems (sample management, MES/manufacturing systems).
- Industry experience: pharma, chemical, or food industry.
- Architecture/system integration understanding.
- Experience using Azure DevOps.
- Experience with on‑prem cloud transitions.
Ideal Candidate:
- A Business Analyst / Developer with proven ELN development experience (Idbs preferred).
- Strong technical skills and hands‑on mindset.
- Comfortable working with scientific end users and IT teams.
- Able to quickly understand lab workflows and propose suitable digital solutions.
- Curious, autonomous, flexible, and eager to learn new systems.
- Not necessarily from pharma if they have relevant lab digitalization experience.
