Description
We are looking for a mechanical designer studies for the design of mechanical/piping installations for investment projects at the Client's site, from concept to execution, under the supervision of the engineering project manager.
Your task is to participate in engineering projects for the site facilities and the different business units EOM & CSM to modernize, adapt and expand their hydro- and pyrometallurgical production facilities on the site.
Primary tasks & responsibilities
Translate client requirements into a technical design for equipment, piping, and mechanical components of an installation.
Provide input and coordinate the drawing of PFDs and P&IDs by a drafter.
Design layout plans, mechanical structures, and components in 3D, create detailed drawings, or coordinate the drafting by a drafter.
Prepare piping specifications (including isometrics).
Perform basic calculations (pipe resistance, pump calculations, pipe sizing, determining PED class, heat capacity, etc.).
Provide advice for risk analyses and ensure the implementation of measures in the design.
Prepare specifications/requirement books for bidding and execution files.
Participate in procurement activities related to projects (from inquiry, through ordering and delivery, to completion and invoicing).
Prepare budgets and contribute to planning for your discipline.
Respect agreed quality, deadlines, and budgets.
Discuss the construction file with site managers regarding project realization and provide technical support during execution and startup of the project.
Maintain contacts with internal clients and external partners/contractors.
Monitor the quality of work delivered by external partners/contractors.
Archive documents and ensure an as-built technical construction file is maintained.
Technical Profile Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanics or Electromechanics or equivalent through experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in designing process installations in an industrial environment.
- Experience with AutoCAD and ACAD Plant 3D software (experience with Revit, Inventor, or other programs is a plus).
- Experience in setting up 3D layouts is a plus.
- Operational knowledge of legal regulations and guidelines (PED, ATEX, VLAREM, etc.) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of chemistry, electricity, and automation, along with necessary material knowledge.
