Senior Functional Test Analyst - Quality Owner (Freelance optional)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

This role focuses on strengthening the functional quality of a large-scale digital healthcare referral platform. The solution supports the secure exchange of sensitive medical information and requires rigorous end-to-end validation of business rules, workflows, integrations and user journeys before release to production.

The assignment aims to reinforce the functional quality layer by ensuring solid test analysis, clear coverage definition, disciplined execution and structured reporting, in close collaboration with business stakeholders and the wider delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse user stories and functional specifications to ensure healthcare workflows are fully testable from an early stage.
• Design, document and maintain functional test scenarios covering business rules and end-to-end processes.
• Detect functional gaps, edge cases and integration risks across the application landscape.
• Manage structured test cases and regression packs in a test management tool such as TestLink or an equivalent solution.
• Execute functional, integration and regression tests across supported platforms.
• Track test execution status and defect progress accurately.
• Report clearly on test coverage, execution progress and defect follow-up.
• Work closely with development teams to investigate and resolve defects.
• Prepare and support User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders.
• Contribute to release validation and Go/No-Go recommendations.
• Support the automation of regression and functional test suites together with the automation team.

📝Your profile

• At least 5 years of proven experience as a Test Analyst.
• Experience supporting UAT campaigns with business stakeholders.
• Background in Agile / Scrum environments.
• Experience managing test cases in tools such as TestLink, Xray, Zephyr Scale, Octane or equivalent.
• Experience with Jira or equivalent tooling.
• Strong analytical mindset and a structured approach to testing and quality assurance.
• Ability to identify edge cases and functional inconsistencies.
• Strong focus on test coverage, execution discipline and traceability.
• Clear and structured reporting of testing activities.
• Hands-on attitude and agile mindset.
• Team-oriented way of working.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in public sector or other regulated environments.
• Experience testing multi-system integrations.
• Experience validating multi-platform applications, including web and mobile.
• Exposure to test automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Postman or equivalent.

Languages

• Dutch: fluent
• French: good working knowledge
• English: good working knowledge
