Data Quality & Power BI Reporting Specialist (Freelance possible)

🎯 About the Role

This role supports the improvement of data quality and the overall maturity of data management, helping build trust in data for decision-making, reporting and day-to-day operations.

A data quality framework and a Power BI reporting setup are already in place for one data domain and one project. You will extend this proven approach to additional domains and project phases, while maintaining and improving the existing setup.

You will work at the intersection of data governance, business stakeholders and data engineering. Strong stakeholder management, structured planning and hands-on technical expertise are all essential for success in this position. Experience in life insurance is a plus.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Work with a broad and evolving stakeholder landscape across business and IT.
• Define data quality plans for new project phases together with project management and relevant domain owners.
• Profile and analyze key datasets to support the definition of data elements and the design of meaningful data quality rules, in collaboration with data stewards, custodians and domain owners.
• Build and further develop data quality reports in Power BI in close cooperation with data engineers and functional analysts.
• Translate data quality metrics and analysis into concrete recommendations, and support follow-up and remediation actions.
• Facilitate effective collaboration around data governance by linking business context, reporting needs and technical implementation.

📝 Your Profile

You are a hands-on data quality professional with strong analytical skills and clear communication. You are comfortable moving between business and IT, bring structure to complex topics and work independently in an environment with changing priorities.

Must have:

• Based in Belgium and available to work on site at least 2 days per week.
• Professional knowledge of Dutch or French, plus English.
• At least 6 years of experience in data analysis or data quality, ideally in complex or fast-changing environments.
• Strong ability to translate data findings into business context and business needs into data-focused actions.
• High proficiency in Power BI and SQL.
• Experience working with data stewards, domain owners and technical teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, structured planning and solid self-management.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with data modeling concepts.
• Experience in the life insurance domain.
