What You'll Do

Fiber Management & Maintenance

• Safeguard the fiber infrastructure against outages, degradation, and failures.
• Perform proactive inspections, cleaning, and testing to ensure seamless operations.
• Collaborate with suppliers, partners, and internal teams to deliver high-quality fiber solutions.
• Educate and mentor internal engineers on fiber best practices.
• Oversee both leased and company-owned fiber, ensuring timely and defect-free delivery.
• Drive fiber logistics, network expansion, and infrastructure readiness for new deployments.

Fiber Deployment & Testing

• Conduct end-to-end fiber testing to validate and troubleshoot network performance.
• Utilize advanced OTDR analysis, loss measurements, and return loss evaluations to optimize connectivity, and interpret the results.
• Ensure all test equipment meets certification standards.
• Provide detailed reports and expert insights for engineering teams.
• Perform fiber splicing activities to support network growth and rapid break-fix solutions.

Data Center Hygiene & Compliance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient fiber environment.
• Inspect and manage fiber paths, patch panels, and circuit layouts for maximum performance.
• Implement quality control measures, proper labeling, and cable management best practices.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and industry regulations.

Change Management & Troubleshooting

• Be the go-to expert for fiber-related changes and incident management.
• Troubleshoot fiber outages and implement swift, effective solutions.
• Support disaster recovery planning and network restoration efforts.
• Lead collaborative troubleshooting sessions with engineering and fiber provider teams.

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of expertise in fiber maintenance, OTDR testing, and dark & lit fiber operations.
Ability to pass a cloud background check (upon hire and every two years).
Hands-on experience in fiber splicing, troubleshooting, and field testing.
Knowledge of data center infrastructure, network equipment, and fiber mapping.

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ 7+ years in mission-critical fiber operations within large-scale environments.
⭐ Experience with dark and lit fiber providers, aerial/underground fiber delivery.
⭐ Deep expertise in fiber splicing, network design, and OSP/ISP infrastructure.
⭐ IT service operations knowledge (ITIL, SLA/OLA frameworks).
⭐ Familiarity with cloud services and platforms.
