We are currently managing the design-build execution of four new borough-based jail facilities in New York City as part of a highly visible, long-term public initiative to replace Rikers Island.
About the Role
As a Senior or Executive Project Manager, you will provide strategic leadership and hands-on oversight for the execution of large-scale construction projects. Youll guide all aspects of project implementation, budget management, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder coordination to ensure timely and successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all phases of the design-build project to ensure alignment with design, budget, and schedule specifications.

Develop and implement cost-effective and efficient project plans.

Administer contracts, track performance, and oversee budget projections and payment processes.

Maintain detailed documentation and reporting, including drawings, progress reports, correspondence, and permits.

Review and approve change orders, manage financial reporting, and oversee invoicing and payments.

Coordinate with contractors and lead site visits to monitor construction progress, quality, and compliance with specifications.

Promote a strong safety culture and enforce safety protocols on-site.

Collaborate with stakeholders including NYC public agencies, design teams, and contractors to ensure clear communication and issue resolution.
Requirements

Approximately 15 years of experience in construction project management, including at least 7 years in a leadership role.

Proven success leading large-scale, complex, or high-rise construction projects under traditional or design-build delivery models.

Strong knowledge of construction cost estimating, scheduling, procurement, engineering, and budgeting.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project scopes.

Experience working with New York City public agencies is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with industry-standard project and construction management tools and software.

Excellent leadership, interpersonal, negotiation, and written/verbal communication skills.

Advanced presentation and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software.
