About the job Facility Maintenance Technician
We are currently seeking a Commercial Facilities Maintenance Technician. You will be responsible for performing complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, equipment, and grounds.
Responsibilities:
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate following checklists and maintenance schedules.
- Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
- Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
- Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.
- Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
- Clean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machinery.
- Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components of these systems.
- Setup and removal of all holiday decorations.
- Building of planters and bases for art.
- Maintenance of parking garages and parking lot lighting following checklists and maintenance schedules.
- Handling maintenance calls from tenants.
- Report issues to Maintenance Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
​Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and skill in use of standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of general maintenance task
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of general maintenance
- Knowledge of blueprints, schematics, and working drawings
- Ability to use basic shop math applications
- Ability to locate and identify problems in appropriate building system or equipment and to plan and execute necessary repairs
