About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, youll support the enterprise in the testing and maintenance of agricultural mechanical systems and components. Youll play a critical part in ensuring continuity of mechanical systems and components in real-world applications!

Responsibilities:
- Assist the team in testing and maintenance of mechanical systems, prototypes, and components
- Set up, operate, and maintain testing and maintenance equipment
- Document testing and maintenance procedures, data, and results accurately
- Support troubleshooting and repair of mechanical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Farming, Technical Support, Workshop and Field Teams

Main Tasks:
- Installing and performing diagnostic tests on mechanical systems
- Troubleshooting mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, as well as performing repairs.
- Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment.
- Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
- Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance and fit using precision measuring instruments
- Monitoring the availability of parts and replenishing supplies.
- Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of machines and plant.
- The repair of plant that has broken down.
- Maintain plant records.
- Training co-workers on the safe and efficient use of mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Selecting tools and equipment.
- Estimating material costs and quantities, and machine requirements.
- Collecting and analysing data.
- Ensuring compliance with environmentally sound work practises.
- Collection & disposal of waste materials

Qualifications:
- Associate degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field - Agricultural Background and - Experience (5+ years preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in a mechanical/technical role (internships count!)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with testing and maintenance processes and technical documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
