Role Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician & Welder to support our engineering and manufacturing teams in designing, fabricating, and maintaining mechanical systems and components for our height safety products. This role involves both technical engineering tasks and hands-on welding work, ensuring that all components meet industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and developing mechanical components for height safety systems.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Conduct mechanical testing and analysis to ensure product reliability.
  • Select tools, materials, and equipment required for assembly and installation.
  • Estimate material costs, quantities, and machine requirements for projects.
  • Cut, shape, and prepare metal components for welding and fabrication.
  • Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG welding.
  • Align and join metal components to precise measurements.
  • Inspect welds for quality, ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
  • Finish and polish fabricated metal products using grinding and cleaning techniques.
  • Conduct repairs and modifications on existing mechanical components.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or related Trade Qualification required.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering and welding, preferably in the safety equipment industry.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools.
  • Strong welding and fabrication skills, with experience in MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and commitment to workplace safety.
